There's no separate "Pie" card type - set Inner Size to Full Pie (0%) on a Donut chart and it renders as a pie.
Best for a low-cardinality breakdown (roughly 5-7 segments) of a single metric by a single dimension - for a longer list, use Table instead.
The tooltip and legend automatically show each segment's percentage of the total - there's no separate toggle for it.
Donut has no stacking concept and no shared/position options on its tooltip (unlike the cartesian charts).

Configuring a Donut Chart

Open or create a report and select Donut Chart (Creating a Card).
Go to the Data tab to select metric and dimension.
Go to the Chart tab to customize appearance.
Go to the Card tab to edit card styling.
Go to the Palette tab to customize segment colors (Palettes).
Go to the Custom tab for advanced JSON overrides (optional).
Click Save when finished.

AI Edit

Open AI Edit and describe the breakdown you want, e.g. "donut of sessions by device." See AI Edit a Card.

Data Tab

Select time period, dimension (segments), metric (values), sorting, and comparison options. Fields come from the Data Model.

Keep the breakdown dimension low-cardinality - a donut with 15+ slivers is hard to read. If your dimension naturally has many values (like campaign name), filter to the top few or switch to a Table.

Under the hood a donut is a Highcharts pie series with an innerSize - setting Inner Size to Full Pie (0%) closes the hole and gives you a standard pie chart, which is why Jepto doesn't have a separate Pie card type.

Tips for donut charts

Cap it around 5-7 segments - beyond that, slivers become unreadable and the legend gets crowded. Group the rest into a Table instead of forcing them into the chart.
Use Full Pie when you specifically want the pie look - it's the same chart, just with the hole closed.
Turn on data labels for client-facing reports where the exact percentage matters, not just the relative size.
Since percentages are automatic, you don't need a separate metric for "share of total" - just chart the raw metric.

Troubleshooting
