Everything we pull from Xero

Jepto syncs invoice headers, line items, payments, contacts and the chart of accounts — so agencies can report billed revenue next to marketing performance.

Entity What it contains
Invoices AR and AP invoice headers — status, totals, amount due, issue date and due date.
Invoice lines Line items on an invoice, tagged to chart-of-accounts codes and names.
Payments Payments applied to invoices, including amount, payment date and days to pay.
Contacts Customers and suppliers — name, email, and customer or supplier flags.
Accounts Chart of accounts — code, name, class and type (for example revenue or expense).

Default reporting time is invoice date. Use payment date for cash received and line date for revenue by account. Paid rate can exceed 100% when payments in a period cover older invoices — for collections, prefer amount due. Filter measures with gt / gte / lt / equals.
Read-only source

Query Xero without leaving the conversation

Read invoices, payments, contacts and accounts through natural language — no write-back to Xero.

Read-only analytics

Ask questions about connected organisations

Use MCP to query xero fields on the client’s connected organisations. Prefix every field with xero. Jepto maps the question to invoices, lines, payments, contacts or accounts.

  • Query invoice totals, amount due and paid rate
  • Break down by status, contact, type or account
  • Compare payments to invoices over a date range
  • Blend with ads or analytics when those sources are connected

Setup

Connecting Xero

Sign in once with Xero, then attach the right organisations to each client.

  1. 1. Sign in with Xero

Click Connect and authenticate with a Xero user who can access the organisations you manage.

  2. 2. Select organisations

Pick one or more Xero organisations (tenants) for that client. Refresh the list if a new org does not appear yet.

  3. 3. Share the connection to a client

The same Xero login can serve multiple clients. Attach different organisations per client as needed.

  4. 4. Wait for the first sync

Jepto backfills your full Xero history — invoices, invoice lines, payments, contacts and the chart of accounts — then syncs incrementally every 12 hours. Chart of accounts refreshes at least once a day.

Xero in Jepto is read-only. Reports and Data Chat query the synced copy — very recent activity may wait until the next incremental sync. If the connection shows stale, reconnect under Connections.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Xero in Jepto.

Reporting and Data Chat on synced invoices, payments, contacts and accounts. MCP can query the same fields. Jepto does not write invoices or payments back to Xero. Budget tracking is for ad spend, not Xero.

Yes — in the same report or Data Chat question when both sources are connected to the client. Align date grain (typically month) and watch mixed currencies on the Xero side.

The first connect backfills the organisation’s full history, one entity at a time — large organisations can take a few sync cycles to finish. After that, Jepto syncs incrementally every 12 hours, and the chart of accounts refreshes at least once a day. See the Connect to Xero guide.

Paid rate is payments divided by invoice total. Payments in a period can retire invoices issued earlier. For collections, use amount due (and status) rather than paid rate as a single efficiency score.

Yes. Select multiple organisations on the client’s Xero data source, or attach different orgs to different clients from the same Xero login.

Jepto keeps history already synced and stops pulling new rows. Reconnect under Data Sources → Connections, then wait for the next sync.
